Ethics in Indigenous Research Workshop March 16, 2018

The Ethics in Indigenous Research Workshop will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 on the Keele campus of York University (Kaneff Tower 519) from 8:30am – 5:30pm. Please register for the workshop here. The registration deadline is March 1, 2018.

We welcome Indigenous and non-Indigenous scholars, faculty, senior undergraduate, and graduate students to engage in a day of meaningful conversations about the responsibilities of conducting ethical research with Indigenous communities, including forms this research might take within the context of a changing sociopolitical landscape.

We take as a fundamental premise that the incorporation of indigenous knowledges and values at every stage of the research process has greatly transformed the ways in which ethical research is being re-defined, re-articulated, regulated, and operationalized within academia. We invite you to a space where we can come together to engage each other with thought-provoking ethics issues in diverse areas of Indigenous research.

This Workshop is funded by York University’s Provost’s Indigenizing the Academy Initiative.
